2. Purpose
These Terms & Conditions of Sale ("Terms") define the rights and obligations of THE MAP and any person purchasing products through www.charlottebourrus.com.
Placing an order on the Website constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms.
THE MAP reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. The version applicable to an order is the one in force on the date the order is confirmed.
3. Atelier Charlotte Bourrus
Atelier Charlotte Bourrus imagines and creates handcrafted paper artworks presented beneath hand-blown glass domes.
Each creation is designed, meticulously hand-cut, and assembled in our studio in Bidart, in the French Basque Country.
Rather than reproducing existing cartography with precision, our creations offer a poetic interpretation of landscapes, memories, and places that inspire us.
Entirely handcrafted, each piece requires many hours of work, giving every creation its own distinctive character.
4. The Handcrafted Nature of Our Creations
Each creation is individually handcrafted.
As a result of this artisanal process, subtle variations may naturally occur from one piece to another, including variations in:
These variations are inherent to handmade craftsmanship and contribute to the unique character of every creation. They shall not be regarded as defects or a lack of conformity.
The photographs displayed on the Website faithfully represent the spirit of each creation but do not necessarily depict the exact piece that will be made for the Customer.
Variations in colour resulting from different screens, browsers, or digital devices cannot give rise to any liability on the part of the Atelier.
5. Our Creations
The creations presented on the Website are offered subject to the production capacity of the Atelier.
Unlike a traditional retail store, the vast majority of our creations are made to order.
Production begins only after the order has been confirmed, payment has been received, and the necessary materials are available.
On rare occasions, certain creations may be available for immediate dispatch, particularly during the holiday season or for special events. Such availability will be clearly indicated on the relevant product page.
The Atelier reserves the right to withdraw a creation from its collection or modify certain characteristics where justified by artistic developments or technical considerations.
6. Bespoke Creations
The Atelier also offers fully bespoke creations.
Each project begins with a consultation to discuss the Customer's wishes, technical requirements, production timeline, and budget.
A quotation is prepared prior to the commencement of any work.
Acceptance of the quotation constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions of Sale.
Bespoke creations are designed and crafted exclusively for the Customer.
In accordance with applicable consumer protection regulations, bespoke and personalised creations are not subject to the statutory right of withdrawal.
The Customer acknowledges that all designs, research, sketches, mock-ups, and preparatory work remain the intellectual property of the Atelier until full payment has been received and may not be reproduced or used without prior written permission.
7. Orders
Orders may be placed exclusively through www.charlottebourrus.com or, in the case of certain bespoke creations, directly with the Atelier following acceptance of a quotation.
Before confirming an order, Customers are invited to verify the details of their purchase, the information provided, and the delivery address.
An order becomes final once payment has been successfully completed and a confirmation email has been sent.
The Atelier reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order in the event of:
In such cases, any amounts already paid will be refunded in full.

Shipping costs are calculated separately before the order is confirmed.
Any customs duties, local taxes, or import charges payable in the destination country remain the sole responsibility of the Customer.
The Atelier reserves the right to modify its prices at any time. However, creations will always be invoiced at the price applicable on the date the order is confirmed.

Should a significant delay affect the estimated dispatch date, the Atelier will inform the Customer as soon as reasonably possible.
Reasonable delays shall not entitle the Customer to cancel the order automatically or to claim compensation.

All shipments are fully insured until delivery.
Customers will receive a tracking number as soon as their order has been dispatched.

13. Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation, eligible Customers have the right to withdraw from their purchase within fourteen (14) days of receiving their order, without having to provide any reason and without incurring any costs other than the return shipping costs.
To exercise this right, the Customer must notify the Atelier of their decision by means of an unequivocal statement sent by email or post, or by using the withdrawal form made available for this purpose.
Returned creations must be complete, in their original condition, and carefully protected in their original packaging or packaging offering equivalent protection.
Return shipping costs remain the responsibility of the Customer.
Refunds will be issued within a maximum of fourteen (14) days from the date the creation is received back by the Atelier or from the date proof of return shipment is provided, whichever occurs first.
Refunds will be made using the same payment method as the original transaction unless the Customer expressly agrees otherwise.
14. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

The claim should include:
After reviewing the claim, the Atelier will determine the most appropriate solution, which may include repair, replacement, a refund, or any other mutually agreed resolution.
16. Statutory Warranties
In addition to any commercial warranty that may be offered, all creations sold by the Atelier are covered by the statutory warranties provided under applicable French consumer law, including the legal guarantee of conformity and the warranty against hidden defects.
These statutory rights apply in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
Further information regarding these warranties is available upon request by contacting the Atelier.
17. Liability
The Atelier devotes the utmost care to the design, craftsmanship, and shipment of every creation.
However, the Atelier cannot be held liable for damage or loss resulting from:
The photographs and styling presented on the Website are intended for illustrative purposes only.
Due to the handcrafted nature of our creations, slight variations in composition, colour, or finish may exist between the creation received and the photographs displayed on the Website.
Such variations are an inherent characteristic of handmade work and shall not constitute a lack of conformity.

Our creations are intended for indoor display only.
